Learn how to not only reduce painful symptoms but also improve the way you move, function and perform by combining sports massage therapy with corrective exercise!

Whether you currently can't work, train or play your sport, we can show you how to come back from an injury like a phoenix rising from the ashes to feel and perform better than you did before your injury and enjoy your new personal best!

We have had the honour of learning from some of the best physiotherapists and sports therapists in the UK and have had the added advantage of learning from making every training mistake known to man kind ourselves. This experience and knowledge has helped us successfully treat several hundred injuries over the last 10 years.

One of the most important things about treating an injury effectively is understanding "how" or "why" the injury has occured. Many times people tell us that simple crucial assessments or actual hands on treatment have shockingly been over looked, ignored or not even considered by other so called specialists.
This I believe is why we have succeeded where others have failed, due an up to date hands on and functional approach to therapy.

Our clients include gym users, exercise enthusiasts, office workers to housewives and a whole host of professional athletes including members of the british knee boarding team, numerous well know professional boxers such as John Thaxton, Sam Sexton, Michael and Liam Walsh, Danny Macintosh, marathon runners, football players, rugby players, basket ball players and many, many more...

By combining sports therapy, corrective exercise and physiotherapy, we believe that myself, David and Bob together provide the most effective injury treatment and rehabillitation clinic in Norwich. We also refer out to an experienced Osteopath when and if appropriate.

But more importantly we also care about how we provide our service. We take the time to show you what we believe to be the problem (on charts, plastic models or your own body) and make sure you know exactly what to do after you see us to help you solve the problem. We also help make you aware of your mental state or attitudes regarding the management of your injury. This can sometimes be more important than manual therapy or exercises.

Here are some of the common complaints we can help you with:

  • Poor posture, muscle imbalances and general aches and pains.
  • Chronic back pain and back injuries (including sciatica)
  • Shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries
  • Tendonitis of the shoulder, elbow, knee or achilles
  • Muscular strains such as hamstring, calf, bicep or groin.
  • Ligament sprains such as ankle or knee etc...
  • Whiplash injuries and pains old and new
  • Tension headaches (which are usually the result of tension in the back, neck and shoulders)

"I always go to see Mark whenever I get any injuries or muscular problems because I know I will get a prompt solution. Mark clearly explains what's happening with my body and helps me understand what I need to do to correct it. His explanation makes me much more mindful about what i'm doing and as a professional body builder this is very important to me. I have full confidence in Mark whenever he helps me, other people in the past have either not known what to do to help me or it has taken them much longer to figure out what was wrong. Mark goes straight to it! One of the main things I have learnt from Mark is that you can't just focus on doing the basic training. It's like there is another programme you need to take care of also as well as your main exercise programme. This additional programme helps to prevent or rehabillitate injuries and correct muscular imballances. If you are open to learning and want to improve your training, suffer with fewer injuries and feel better in the long run then you can gain a lot of benefit in both the short and long run working with someone as good as Mark."

"Whenever I get injury playing my sport or training in the gym I always go to see Mark for treatment and advice, and without fail within a week of seeing him and doing what he tells me to do my symptoms already feel much better. Mark is very good at identifying the root cause of a problem which in my case has not always been apparent. Mark also helps me with my gym training to help correct some postural imbalances and strengthen my back and shoulders which have been weak on me in the past. I am sure that if my dad had not introduced me to Mark I would still be in pain or repeatedly re-injuring my old weaknesses.
Daniel Lewis (Lowestoft) Member of the British knee boarding and ski-ing teams

"I went to see Mark over 2 years ago now with a long standing calf injury that I could not shake off. Mark took the time to look at how my body was (or more to the point wasn't) working and explained how other muscles were not working correctly, which in turn was putting pressure on elsewhere. Since then, he has developed a training programme which allowed me to return to football fitter than I had been for some time, and also helped to sort out poor body posture, which had contributed to various strains and injuries over the years. As I approach 50, I feel confident that with Mark's knowledge and continuing guidance, I can continue to play sport for a few more years. Mark is clearly passionate about what he does, and I only wish that I had visited him before, as maybe some of the problems I have had over the years could have been prevented. Mark doesn't look to just offer short term solutions, but to work with you on developing long term plans, to prevent future re-occurrences, and also to make you feel better about how you look, and how you feel. If you have a problem with poor posture, an injury that you can't seem to shake, or just need some personal training to tone up that tired body, then look no further, Mark is the man to go to.

"Mark's knowledge of injuries is really impressive. He always knows what to do to help me get over a problem I get myself into through my training. But the thing I enjoy the most is Marks enthusiasm. He doesn't just go through the motions explaining stuff, he gets excited about correcting the problem which I see as an invaluable quality of any working professional. It's like he is as passionate about my workouts as I am. Mark always explains how exercises should be done correctly, where you are supposed to be feeling it (which has helped me in the past) and why I should be doing certain exercises I have been neglecting. If someone just tells me what to do I don't always do it or I do it incorrectly. Mark motivates me by giving me clear instructions on beneficial exercises and relates to my posture, problems and goals. Without Mark I would be in pain, simple as! And me not being in pain and performing better helps me fulfil my dreams of becoming as strong as I can for my strong man competitions and look as good as I can for my body building competitions. Nice one Mark."

Here's what some of my satisfied clients say:

Professional Boxer
“When I injured my shoulder years ago I was sure that as a professional boxer I would get myself back into top shape quickly, but after 2 years of seeing specialists around the country to no avail I started to lose hope. When I first met Mark I remember saying "hey I have had the top guys around the country trying to get rid of this shoulder problem, so I doubt that you can!" But 10 weeks later after some specific exercise tweaking to my programme, sports massage therapy and relaxation techniques I became completely pain free. I couldn’t believe how a local private sports massage therapist was talking more sense and providing more affective treatment than the so called experts. Since then my shoulder pain is gone, I have got back into the ring in better shape than before and I have fulfilled my dream of becoming BRITISH CHAMPION! These guy got me results when nobody else could.”
John Thaxton (Norwich)

"I had shoulder and back pain and my shoulders were very "hunched" when I used to do my own thing in the gym but since training with mark my shoulder and back pain have gone, my posture is loads better and I can actually do single leg split squats. (as above) I feel more naturally strong without having to do real heavy weights and more balanced sinse training with Mark. Things just feel easier... Thanks mark."

"I regularly see Mark for massages and training tips to help me stay injury free. When I first met Mark I had a dodgy shoulder and back. I now feel in the best shape of my life. Mark has also helped me with nutritional advice and definitely contributes to keeping me in top form to box at my best!

"I couldn't even walk 5 steps since my stroke a couple of years ago. I can now walk using a stick and am much more mobile. I am much fitter than I used to be can actually enjoy doing most normal things. Obviously I wont be playing rugby anytime soon but I feel so thankful I found Mark. He is a life saver to me!!."

Professional Body Builder
"As a professional bodybuilder I need to keep myself injury free to get the best out of my training. I see Mark regularly for sports massage and rehabillitation tips and I can honestly say that I have achieved better muscle gain results in the last 6 months than I did in the 12 months previous to that. Mark has a good knowledge of how your body works and his massage is excellent."

I have seen NHS Physios in the past for injuries but not felt like I got what I needed. I felt like I was put into a catagory and given some pre designed exercise sheets and not really listened to due to the lack of time. Plus I would see a different physio each time and have to explain my story over again. Marks approach has been much more informative and professional and for the first time felt like my injury has been understood and explained to me. I can tell that Mark also has a great deal of experience in exercise which he passes on and helps when I explain what exercises I am doing in the gym. Mark then explained how my programme was missing important exercises and movements to keep me balanced and what to do about it. Marks advice was very structured and progressive and the hands on deep tissue sports massage therapy was very helpful for my recovery. I now know that my back will be much stronger and I can feel much more confident lifting weights and working again.
